AKC GRCH Keelypso's Free At Last

How can you say no to that face! Frisco is our pick male from the repeat breeding between Tia, Am/Can Ch Keelypso's Tea Biscuit, and Gibson, Can Ch Thistledees Braveheart Keehold, CHOF. This boy is very exciting. He is short backed, has nice leg and a nice tailset and is a very nice moving boy with tons of body on him. He is strikingly marked with a gorgeous, masculine head and face and a very nice ear set. He is just a bit soft in temperament, so it takes work to get his ears up nicely in the show ring, at this age. Other than that, he has taken well to the chaos of the show atmosphere and is quick to relax and nap ringside and is very quick to make friends with other dogs at the shows. Because of this wonderful temperament, we feel he will come around and settle in at the shows, with a bit of maturity, and will make a very nice, flashy show dog. We have great expectations for this young pup!

On his first weekend out in Garden City, KS, Frisco took Winners Dog both of the days he was shown. At his next shows, he did not fair as well, taking a 2nd place in the Bred-By Exhibitor class the first day and a 3rd place the second day.

Frisco's third weekend of showing took place in Albuquerque, NM where he took WD/BOW and BOS to his older sister Tabitha the first day, RWD the following two days and WD and BOS the final day to pick up two more points. His next win came at the Buckhorn Valley KC show in Loveland, CO where he won WD/BOW for a 2 point win and took RWD the following day. He followed that win with two days of wins at the Roaring Fork KC shows in Eagle, CO where he went WD/BOW both days to add 2 more points to his total. He came very close to WD at the Greeley KC shows, taking RWD to the major both days.

At the RMKC Specialties in Greeley, CO in September of 2011
he placed 3rd and 2nd in the Bred-By class. Frisco went through a bit of a dry spell in the Spring of 2012, being out of coat, but finally had two good weekends in June, taking WD for a 4 point major at the Flatirons KC show in Longmont, CO and completing the requirements for his AKC Championship by taking another 4 point major at the Colorado Springs KC show in Colorado Springs, CO. Frisco never was quite at ease in the show ring, but was still able to win Best of Breed and a Group 4 and several Select Awards, including in heavy competition during a local Keeshond club's Specialty weekend, all owner-handled. He completed the requirements for his Grand Championship in September of 2013. He was shown sparingly after that, but never gained enough enjoyment for showing. His last time in the ring was in 2019 at the Keeshond Club of America Specialty and he managed a third place in the Veteran's class, up against some tough competition, defeating a highly ranked dog.
