Keelypso Keeshonden |
Welcome to the Keelypso Keeshonden webpage! Our Keeshonden are raised in a loving home as members of the family and are always treated as pets and family members first and show dogs second. Pups are whelped and reared in our home, not in a kennel, and we do our utmost to socialize them before they are placed in their new homes, which usually includes trips to the pet store to pick out a favorite toy and, of course, some treats! To insure our pups cannot be used as breeding stock at a puppymill or even by an uninformed recreational breeder, we spay/neuter our pups at around nine weeks of age, before they are placed in their new homes. The surgery at this age is very minor and the pups do not seem to be aware that it has even ocurred. They are active and playing shortly after the anesthesia has worn off and do not experience the pain and depression often seen in adults and pups that are several months old. Having this surgery performed prior to placement means peace of mind for us and one less thing with which the new families have to deal. For anyone interested in showing, the pup would be left intact, but with strict contractual stipulations that the pup actually be shown to its Championship, followed by responsible breeding. Please feel free to peruse the various pages on this website and check out our dogs, both past and present, learn more about the pedigrees of our show dogs, and check out any pups available or litters planned. Thank you for visiting Keelypso Keeshonden! |
